Eric Prydz Steps In for John Summit at Creamfields This Friday
Creamfields confirmed Eric Prydz will play Friday's Apex stage as a very special guest, taking the slot John Summit vacated to focus on his arena tour.
Eric Prydz is stepping in for John Summit at Creamfields, and as far as substitutions go, that’s about as good as it gets. The festival confirmed this week that Prydz will play the Apex stage as a very special guest on Friday, August 28, filling the slot Summit left behind when he pulled out of his remaining August festival dates.
If you missed the backstory: Summit canceled four August festival dates earlier this month to lock in on his upcoming CTRL ESCAPE arena tour in North America. Creamfields was the biggest name on that list, and for a minute it looked like the festival’s Friday was losing one of its major draws. Instead, the swap arguably upgrades the night.
Prydz lands on the Apex with Capital Dance stage, which Creamfields bills as the world’s largest indoor festival main stage superstructure, holding around 30,000 people. He’ll share the Friday bill there with Fisher, while Disclosure’s live show and Carl Cox anchor other stages the same night. Not a bad Tuesday-through-Sunday problem to have if you’re still deciding which day to attend.
The Daresbury festival has become something of a second home for Prydz. He brought his jaw-dropping HOLO production there in 2022 and returned under his Pryda alias in 2024. Creamfields hasn’t said which version of Prydz shows up this time, so consider that part of the fun. Whatever he plays, a surprise Prydz booking a week before showtime is the kind of thing UK ravers will be talking about all weekend.
The timing works out neatly for him, too. Prydz is gearing up for a fall North American tour, so a massive festival room full of 30,000 people is a pretty solid warm-up lap.
Creamfields runs August 27 through 30 at Daresbury, Cheshire, closing out the UK festival summer as always over the bank holiday weekend. Summit fans, don’t be too heartbroken — the whole point of the cancellations is that he’s saving everything for the arena run. And if you’re already en route to Daresbury with a tent in the trunk: enjoy the upgrade.
