BREAKING: Fyre Fesitval Founder, Billy McFarland Sentenced To 6 Years In Federal Prison

Fyre Festival attempted to take place almost 18 months ago now. The failed destination festival put on by Ja-Rule and Billy McFarland is best known for stranding hundreds of ticket holders on a small Bahamian island. The island which was advertised as a tropical paradise by influencers such as the Kardashians and Bella Hadid did not have the infrastructure to hold a population influx, let alone a full music festival.

Not long after the news of the festival failure broke on social media, it went incredibly viral. More viral than almost anything in 2016, besides the election of President Trump. Quickly the failed festival caught the attention of federal investigators after dozens of investors came forward declaring they were defrauded.

Federal Prison Sentence

Billy McFarland was then arrested for wire fraud. Now today he has finally been sentenced for his crimes. For defrauding individuals out of over $6 million, he will spend 6 years in federal prison.

McFarland's defense team attempted to get their client out of prison time by informing the judge Billy was recently diagnosed with Bi-Polar disorder and “did not know right from wrong”. The judge did not take the bait and while handing down her sentence declared that McFarland was a serial fraudster, and any diagnosis does not excuse his behavior.

I honestly just have one question: WHERE IS JA-RULE.
