Today we lost a legend in dance music. Tim Bergling, better known as Avicii suddenly passed away in the Middle Eastern country of Oman on April 20, 2018. Immediately following the news of his passing, the events were confirmed by his press agent, but they did not answer the question of how did Avicii die?
In the statement that was released, no further developments were available beyond the confirmation of Avicii's death. The statement also asked for privacy during this time for his family and friends. Avicii will no doubt go down in history as one of the true legends of electronic dance music.

Many fans and outlets have immediately speculated about the answer to the question of – how did Avicii die? Earlier in his career, a performance at Ultra Music Festival was canceled for an emergency appendectomy. In 2016 it became public knowledge that the artist's health was failing due to chronic alcoholism and stresses of international touring. During this time, Avicii would have his gallbladder removed and began to focus on his physical health.
Nobody heard much from Avicii until the end of 2017. The artist's official website was updated, and soon it was announced that he would be releasing new music for the first time in almost 2 years. Fans were immediately ecstatic and Avicii even returned to social media detailing his trips to the Amazon for ritual ceremonies drinking tea brewed from the powerful hallucinogenic bark ayahuasca. It seemed that he was in a better place, focusing entirely on his spiritual, mental and physical health. The release of his new self-titled EP pushed him once more into the limelight as high profile collaborations and beautiful new singles captivated critics and fans alike.
How Did Avicii Die? The Facts
There wasn't much mention of Avicii since the release of his EP, and now his untimely death. We know that the artist did visit the Amazon several more times. As of now, we are not sure the official cause of death or the reason why Avicii was visiting Oman at the time of his passing. One source told the Daily Star that “Two autopsies were carried out, one yesterday and one today and we absolutely confirmed that there is no criminal suspicion in the death.”
