The lawsuit against Skrillex, BloodPop, and Justin Bieber has officially been dropped.
Back in 2015, Justin Bieber teamed up with a handful of artists to release the hit single “Sorry.” The musician Casey Dienel, known as White Hinterland, claimed that the producers had ripped the female vocals directly from her single “Ring The Bell” which was released one year earlier. After the initial lawsuit, Skrillex took to social media to write “SORRY but we didn't steal this” along with an Ableton lesson. In addition to Dienel claiming that the vocals had been ripped off, Dienel also claimed that “Sorry” also copied “Ring The Bell” in terms of the samples, synth bass, drums, percussion, and keyboard synthesizers.
