This story that I'm about to post is one of the most bizarre stories that I've read about in a while. On Wednesday night, Marshmello was scheduled to perform at the Kathmandu nightclub in Nepal. Unfortunately, Marshmello was extremely sick and had to cancel the show. As can happen when you are constantly on the road and always eating strange food, Marshmello got food poisoning and had a 106 degree fever and was under doctors orders not to perform at the event.
I love you Nepal! I have been excited for weeks to come out here and play for you guys and experience this amazing country. Unfortunately I got food poisoning and did everything I could but was in no condition to play last night. We are rescheduling and I will be back soon. Please know it was not the club owner or promoters fault, they did everything they could for this show. Thank you all ❤️
Nepal. I'm so sorry for not being able to appear for my performance last night at Deja Vu ktm. I was sick with an awful fever, & although I tried to come, the doctor ordered against it. Health first. I love you Nepal Mellogang, thank you for understanding & hope to see you soon.

That is not the strange part of the story. The strange part was the aftermath. Once the promoter came on stage to inform the crowd that Marshmello was sick and could not attend, the crowd flipped shit. When I mean flipped shit, I mean destroyed the club. Check out this video below from YouTube
To add to this nightmare of an event, the police in Nepal have ARRESTED 8 people from the club and promoters of the event for “overselling tickets”. According to a report, the arrested are: Jayan Shrestha, Mayank Khadka, Bishal Dangi, Milan Dangi, Prithu Banskota, Rajeev Maharjan, Akash Neupane and Ritesh Marwadi.
Metropolitan Police Crime Investigation Department chief SP Dibesh Lohani said that the operators of Club Deja Vu were arrested for ‘overselling’ tickets. He said that although the club can accommodate only 3,500 people, it sold tickets to 7,000 people. (Source)
What a story. Folks, people get sick. Don't destroy the club. Promoters, don't oversell a venue and then lead people on all night knowing your main performer wont show.
