Fyre Festival founder and notable Douche, Billy McFarland has finally been officially arrested on federal wire fraud charges. While we reported days after the festival that McFarland was detained in the Bahamas, this marks the first time that formal charges have been filed in the United States.

Formal Charges Finally Filed

In a press release today, Joon Kim, the acting Manhattan U.S. Attorney stated that McFarland, “promised a ‘life changing’ musical festival but in actuality delivered a disaster.” In the press release they state that the charges were filed because McFarland provided investors with false and inaccurate documents in order to gain their trust and funding. The charges carry a sentence of up to 20 years maximum. But as most people know, it is extremely unlikely that McFarland will receive that amount of prison time, if any. Federal Prosecutors expanded on Kim's press release by stating that McFarland, “perpetrated a scheme to defraud, induce at least two individuals to invest an estimated $1.2 million in his company Fyre Media.”

As of now Ja Rule has not been arrested for his involvement and his media team has reported they believe he will not have any federal charges filed against him. That is fine – as we have known not to trust Ja Rule with anything since 2003 unless Asanti was involved.
