We're only a mere 11 days into Donald Trump's presidency, and big changes are already causing much unrest in the United States. Beginning with an executive order to renegotiate the Keystone XXL and Dakota Access Pipeline, and now the president of the United States has placed a 90-Day ban on travelers entering our country from Syria, Iraq, Iran, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen. Additionally, the new order requires the Department of Homeland Security to conduct a 30-day review to determine whether countries provide “adequate information” for its citizens to receive visas to enter the country, and also suspending the entrance of all refugees into the United States for four months.
This Executive Order has been met with extreme opposition, and has sparked action across the globe. The most notable action being a lawsuit filed by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) against the president which has led to a federal judge ordering a stay on Trump’s order.
Within our beautifully diverse EDM Community many artist have spoken out via social media to voice their opposition to Trump's newest decree. Of these artist Zedd has taken his support a step further vowing to to take take immediate action. The producer began calling upon fellow popular artists via twitter to join him in taking action by putting on an ACLU benefit show. The media began spreading this literally like wildfire which has Zedd really pushing for this show to happen saying, “I WILL make it happen.”
