Zedd Offers A Helping Hand

Kesha's case with producer Dr. Luke has been attracting worldwide attention following the controversial court decision made last Friday. Kesha was denied an injunction which would have allowed her to produce with labels outside of Kemosabe. In other words, the decision meant she would be forced to pursue a contract with the same man who allegedly drugged and sexually abused the singer. While Kesha is technically free to produce music without direct interference from Dr. Luke, she is never the less bound to a contract that keeps her in an extremely strained and uncomfortable work environment. This poses a risk to the stability of the singer, and most importantly negatively impacts the artistic direction of her music. Many celebrities have been quick to show their support in the #FreeKesha campaign, including Demi Lovato, Taylor Swift, Kelly Clarkson, and our beloved Zedd. The Grammy Award winning DJ/musician/producer who has become world renowned for his top hits including and definitely not limited to ‘Stay The Night' – ‘Clarity' – ‘Spectrum,' recently tweeted:

“@KeshaRose very very sorry to hear about the whole situation. I'll be happy to produce a song for you if you want my help.”

It's pleasantly surprising to see that separation of genres has not kept this issue from attracting sympathy from artists in the EDM crowd, as the power of music continues to bring together artists in an effort to take a stand against controversial injustices. Very interested to see if this potential collaboration will pull through following the termination of the case. Only time will tell, but regardless already started brainstorming the masterpiece that could result from the unique mixture of Kesha's eccentric pop and Zedd's Electro/Progressive House!
