In the early days of MTV, music videos were another art form and channel for artists to express themselves. As the years went on and the Internet became more and more prominent, music videos slowly lost their importance and started to fall by the wayside, leading many artists to choose to not produce any more videos, or cut back on their video production budget. This was especially prominent in the early years of dance music, but now, it seems like music videos are making a resurgence, as they offer artists another piece of content to strengthen their brand.
The emerging, LA-based songstress, MOONZz, made her debut on the musical landscape earlier this month with her single, “Satisfy,” and now, she’s unveiled the official Music Video for her inaugural release. Donning a mysterious personality, MOONZz is able to showcase her almost alien-like being in her official music video, which you can see below.
In celebration of the video release, MOONZz said, “SATISFY, my official debut music video gave me total freedom as a new artist and featured character- a chance to paint this beautiful, blank canvas that is MOONZz. I wanted to portray the epitomized smiling housewife of the 1960's, searching for the man to tickle her fancy. Ironically though, she doesn't “choose” anyone. Her personality gradually starts showing more aggressively throughout the video: she's outwardly sexual, she craves that attention and when it comes down to it, no one is good enough for her and she's 100% happy with that.”
