Terravita – Pirate Bass EP

Drumstep veterans Terravita have always been a reliable source for heavy bass music addicts — and now they've got a new fix for you. Today, their new 4-song EP “Pirate Bass” has been released on Datsik's ever-growing label, Firepower Records. The EP offers three different styles of tracks: the title song, “Pirate Bass,” is a collaboration with Obsidian, and it's another fine example of Terravita's signature recipe of production; with harsh synths, heavy growls, and of course, bone-rattling bass. “Set It Off” is a 140-bpm trap tune, and while it's not common for Terravita to put out a trap production, it doesn't really offer anything that hasn't been done before. “We Are Alive” is a 110-bpm glitch-hop track that brings a number of feels to the table. The horns and the swing-y drums start the track off with a funky groove, then the drop brings forth an onslaught of twisted glitch sounds, and then the break takes an uplifting, melodic turn to lift your spirits right before it drops you back into the nasty glitch sounds. You can actually download “We Are Alive” for free, but first you have to like Terravita on Facebook, follow them on Soundcloud, and follow them on Twitter. But if that involves too much button-clicking for you, paying with money will suffice. You can purchase the EP on Beatport or iTunes.
