Personally, I love the original Major Lazer’s ‘Aerosol Can’, with Pharrell’s clever lyrics thrown together with dance-hall drums. However, Mr. Carmack has laid down some great changes to a track that has been remixed numerous of times already. Mr.Carmack has slowed down the beat, added a heavier bass, and mixed in the voice of Elephant Man. All these components have mixed together to create a sound that makes it stand out from all the other remixes. Check it...read more
Like To Download Wayne & Woods otherwise known as Iman Gilani and Simon Wildman met at school in Stockholm, Sweden and now have become music partners residing in Stockholm still. The 2 young producers were signed to Steve Angello’s Size Records back in 2011 and since have been on a hot streak. Listen to their exclusive guest mix for EDM Sauce above....read more
Envision festival took place in Utiva, Costa Rica in late February and was a huge success from what I heard. In addition to having a pretty funky lineup headlined by the likes of Tipper, Papadosio and The Polish Ambassador, Envision was focused on sustainable living as well as having a significant yoga and performance art pieces. As an attendant, Brady Jacob, also known by his moniker Skinny Hendrix in the Miami local music scene, assembled an awesome mix based on the artists who performed. He had wanted to commemorate the experience and...read more
Martin Garrix is in the spotlight once again with his first solo track since “Animals,” entitled “Proxy.” In it, he showcases what he does best: making a big room house track that puts almost all others in its realm to shame. With his one-of-a kind melody and epic big room drops, the 17-year old Dutch prodigy could have easily put this song onto Beatport and reach top 10 in sales. But instead, he very generously decided to give the track away for free (which you could download here). The reason? To give, as he...read more
Lets face it, chances are by now your New Year’s resolution of going to the gym frequently has fallen off-course. Until now. This dubstep/rap track brings high amounts of energy that will pump you up, no matter what you are doing. The bass is not overpowering, making the song enjoyable; I have heard some dubstep that just ends up being loud noises because there is no sense of direction or harmony. The song does not have long, over-complicated lyrics so you can listen to the track without having to pay super close attention to what is...read more
PAZ seamlessly blends his signature trance-like flow with warm, enormous bass lines and colorful synths that rise and fall throughout the album. On “The Silence”, PAZ’s verses weave through a clever mid-tempo groove, building to a seismic climax before dropping into Aylen’s bass-heavy glitch machine, blurring the lines between genres and leaving EDM crowds bobbing their heads at full pace. PAZ sings, “Synthesizers, disco balls / crystal geyser mixed with moll / life is hard but it ain’t so rough / when...read more
Not all that long after Zedd’s eventual Grammy winning single came out were there an endless slew of producers looking to remix the track. Few actually took the time to perfect a rework of “Stay The Night”, but now we finally get to hear the remix that our favorite dubstep trio, TBMA, have created. It couldn’t have come at a more timely moment as the boys gear up to play down at SXSW at the Play Me Records party, the Warpath Group party, and other gigs down in Austin. You would have to be crazy to think that this song won’t get...read more
