Spring Awakening Sets Age Requirement to 18+

It seems that more and more festivals are going in the direction of 18+ these days. Ever since the very first event back in 2012, Spring Awakening Music Festival was all ages, but this year React Presents decided to change it up. In 2015, only those 18+ years and older will be permitted. Our #1 priority is the safety of our fans! http://t.co/rilUtx12a2 #SAMF — Spring Awakening (@SpringAwakeFest) November 25, 2014 While we’re not sure the exact reason Spring Awakening decided to make this change, one reason may have been the 1,000...

Sankeys Brooklyn is Closed After Less Than Three Weeks of Business

David Vincent, owner of Sankeys Brooklyn, has recently announced that the club is closing for good due to lack of financial backing and poor management. Sankeys Brooklyn opened its doors Halloween weekend, and after less than three weeks of business, was forced to close. After much hype of the club’s new relocation from Manhattan to Brooklyn, management was brought in from Ibiza to ensure the club’s success. In an interview, David Vincent blames the club’s failure on his business partners who were “unprofessional on...

Win Tickets to The New Deal @ The Electric Factory 11/28

One of the best cross over bands in the scene has reunited for a tour which began this summer and is wrapping up in Philadelphia and New York City. The New Deal is known for their incredible ability to produce music from live instruments that sounds like it is coming from a DJ. I mean just check out this track recorded live from this year’s Catskill Chill.. We covered the band earlier in their current tour at their The Hudson Music Project performance back in July and were completely blown away at their live show. The three member...

This Week in Hardstyle, vol. V

This Week in Hardstyle, vol. V

This Week in Hardstyle is a weekly series that brings you new hardstyle content from the past week that’s not exactly post-worthy by itself, but also not worth missing. There were a ridiculous amount of new releases this week — I even omitted some that I liked to save from a Bible-length post. The releases are mostly from the raw hardstyle artists, but Audiofreq’s “Into The Jungle” is a nice subground (light hardstyle) piece amongst the harder sounds. Since there are so many new releases, I’ve lightened the...

Time Warp’s New Digs

If you’re not familiar with Time Warp already, you will be after you get done reading this post. One of, if not the premier underground techno parties is coming to North America. Initially the two day festival was going to be held at a historic armory in the bronx but due to some permit issues, the show has been moved to 39th Street Pier in Brooklyn. The folks over at Time Warp have worked hard in securing a venue that will satisfy the ethos and uphold the dark nature of techno. With all of this in mind, lets get to the details: Place:...

This Could Have Been the Most Expensive EDM Fail Ever

For more than a decade, the Electric Daisy Carnival was held in the sunny Southern Californian city of Los Angeles. Following 2010’s event, the City decided that the festival’s 14-year run was over. Per city legislation, EDC would not return to L.A. It’s been almost 5 years since the event was forced to relocate to Sin City. By the conclusion of the fifth annual Electric Daisy Carnival: Las Vegas, the festival will have generated over $1,000,000,000 in revenue for the city. Considering past years, this isn’t such a...
