For their first release since “Payback”, their incredibly successful collaboration with Steve Angello, Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman have returned to Size with a track just as large. “ID2″ has been one of the highlights of Steve Angello’s sets for a while now and has been one of the most anticipated releases on his label. The powerful, high-energy and melodic track is as good as one would expect from the Swedish duo. They don’t release tracks all too often, but when they do, it is always worth the...read more
Teased by both Mako and Michael Brun for quite some time, the release for the only official remix for “Our Story” is finally out. With the structure remaining the same and the chords and synths varying only slightly from Mako’s version, the remix shares much in common with the original. The original was a spectacular track, so this is not necessarily a bad thing. The song does open up at the build to let the melody shine then and throughout the drop. Even though it is very similar to the original, this is a quality track,...read more
Enhanced has just released the newest installment of their label feature ‘Enhanced Sessions’. Mixed by Estiva and Juventa, the 2 CD or 38 track compilation is chock full of great tunes from the likes of Tritonal, LTN, Fon.Leman and more. I’ve embedded the preview below but I strongly recommend taking a listen through all the previews on itunes. I first started following this compilation around volume 3 (2012) and I’ve been hooked since then, downloading both volumes 1 and 2. If you’re into the more progressive...read more
Nicky Romero, once again, has gifted gold to the EDM community! After working with countless artists over the years, from Calvin Harris to Krewella, Nicky teamed up with Vicetone and When We Are Wild for his latest collaboration ‘Let Me Feel’. And like in previous productions, ‘Let Me Feel’ is the perfect blend of Nicky’s style and his fellow producer’s (Vicetone). ‘Let Me Feel’ will not be available for two weeks, October 6th, but Nicky will let you get a “feel” for the track today...read more
This past Sunday, EDM Sauce got the chance to go behind the scenes and have a sit down interview with the sensational Markus Schulz and legendary Ferry Corsten, also known as, ‘New World Punx’ at Governors Island Beach Club in NYC. New World Punx talked about performing in NYC, the effects of ghost-writing in the electronic and pop music scene, and what we can expect from this fairly new collaboration. Waiting in line with all of the other media outlets is by far the most nerve racking experience a blogger can go through....read more
Released today through the newly revamped Dirty Soul Recordings is “Farbrenfroh”, an intelligent piece of deep house from German producer Modul Kollektiv. The label, which is run under the Be Yourself Music umbrella, presents dance music with a sophisticated edge. This track is no exception, and “Farbenfroh” is a memorable release. From the majestic chord progressions to the darker fragments of bass that make up the tune, Kollektiv has covered plenty of layers here. Giving some added zest to the world of deep house,...read more
Listen I know what you’re thinking: “Hey where are all these hot saxophone tracks at?” Well guess what, strap your sax pants on because this one is doling out more sax bombs than Bill Clinton battling Kenny G in some kind of crazy saxophone show off fundraiser. There’s some other instruments in this: I’m pretty sure I heard some kind of drum or piano thing, and there’s some guy singing for a bit (he doesn’t even sound like a saxophone) but overall, I think we all know why you’re coming to this...read more
“Sheets” by Shannon Saunders is a down tempo vocal track featuring an eclectic combination of percussions and strings. The lyrics are creatively designed to flow with the rhythm. Like most deep house, the core of the track is a heavy bass kick that sits comfortably below the vocal. This track is fun, it’s emotional, and great for a quiet night or a long drive. Learn more about Shannon Saunders on...read more
It took Mark Mendes over a year of hard work but “Take Control”, his latest single is finally out. He says this song is very special to him and that the reason it took so long was because he wanted to get it sounding as perfect as it did in his head. He succeeded in doing so, because the song is outstanding. The anthemic vocals, melodies and drops come together to create a track that stands above the mass amounts of generic progressive house. “Take Control” is a high quality track and maybe Mark’s best to date....read more
Max Elto is criminally underrated. The Swedish duo are both incredibly talented producers and vocalists. Their versatility is demonstrated once again in “Sjöhäst”, which is the Swedish word for “seahorse”, and also their latest release. Atmospheric pads and light vocals are used to introduce the track, and then the smooth bass, synths and drums take the track to its conclusion. It’s nice to have a more chill, easy going progressive track from time to time and Max Elto deliver a superb one right...read more
