TWIIG is an up and coming DJ/producer duo from Zagreb, Croatia, signed to W&W's own imprint Mainstage Music. Out of their 6 releases all of them have gotten to Top 5 on Beatport in its genre. Their official remix for Armin Van Buuren's ‘Dominator' got to #1 on Hard Dance at Beatport. Their songs are supported by Guetta, Chainsmokers, Tiesto, Armin, Hardwell, W&W and many more. Their songs are taking over major festivals such as Ultra, EDC LV, Tomorrowland. 1. How did you guys meet and decide on the name TWIIG?
We were both solo producers and we met because there weren't many people who produce this kind of music here in Croatia! We worked on couple of songs together and decided we should join forces and work together simply because it seems way more fun and productive that way! The name TWIIG is an older name Marko used when he was playing videogames and the name is not used by anyone else, plus it sticks in peoples heads so we decided to with it!
2. Who are some of your biggest influences behind your music?
W&W!! These guys have been the biggest influence and inspiration to us in the past couple of years and they have helped us so much we are forever thankful! Next to them, we are inspired by Axwell, Ingrosso, Pryda, Skrillex, Guetta, deadmau5 and most of other legends in the dance music!
3. Your newest track ‘Jumpstarter' out on Mainstage Music now is an absolute festival banger. Your music is just made for festivals and big room. What went into this track and how does it feel when you here your songs played by big name DJs in their sets?
Thank you! We worked a lot on Jumpstarter, we always wanted to make a song inspired by kinda “Balkan-ish” vibe.. meaning portamented melody and some string instruments but we could simply never be satisfied with anything.. until well.. Jumpstarter 🙂 Once we found the sounds and melody for it, we played with it for a couple of months and the song was done! We are super happy with the support on it and it feels unreal!
4. Thanks for the mix! What went into making it, and what are a few tracks that make the mix for you?
We played our favourite tracks that have recently been released! 🙂 Our favourite is probably Will Sparks – Monsta, it feels fresh to us!
5. What does the future have in store for TWIIG?
More music (hopefully) and shows (hopefully) 😀 We dont know, but we are always working so we will see what the future brings!
6. Thanks for doing this! We like to end all our interviews for the recipe with a food question. What is your favorite home-cooked meal, and what is your favorite junk food?
Haha this is an awesome question 🙂 To both of us.. Cheesebrugers are the best junk food. And home made we honestly have no idea haha
