Notaker has put out Abyss on Mau5trap, and it is just what you would expect from both Notaker and the label. The Abyss is a dark yet melodic progressive masterpiece. Notaker draws you into his world via real world samples. Much like his last track Born in Flames which sampled a fire, Abyss contains samples from actual waves, giving the track a more atmospheric aura. The song starts with deep heavy bass dripping down through marching drums. The contrasting light-hearted synths form a beautiful melody that seems to flutter away as the song breaks down letting that 80s synthwave bass to shine. The song builds back up and continues on in spectacular fashion. Notaker displays a level of talent that does not come around very often. His ability to take you to different places with each song will be the catalyst that brings him to that next level.
