Trap music has evolved from a sub-genre of EDM to its own category of music. The boundaries are constantly being reinvented; there are a thousand different ways to manipulate the synths and basslines to develop an unparalleled, new understanding of trap. Philly local MiNDWALKER is a prime example of raising the musical bar to new heights.
Not only does MiNDWALKER emanate extraterrestrial vibes, he's actively giving listeners numerous examples of his genius. Based out of Philadelphia, creator Alek Gerstenberg is using ambient trap to highlight the power of sound.
Titled “Gravity,” this futuristic bop mimics its name. The bass and spacey dubstep tones are fabricated in a way that is likened to the gravitational pushes and pulls of the atmosphere. With each bass-drop, this song becomes more difficult to categorize. MiNDWALKER has an eclectic, off-beat nature that causes his sound to fit in a variety of genres.
