Praise to Gorillaz After Political ‘Hallelujah Money’ Release

After what seemed like an entire century, Gorillaz have blessed our ears again after a 6 year hiatus. Their new song ‘Hallelujah Money’ expresses a bold statement about the capitalist society we live in; not forgetting to add their unmistakable personal touch.  As the initial beat drops, listeners should be reminded of “Plastic Beach” in all its glory.

With a new era creeping its way into our nation, music is becoming increasingly political; this song being a prime example. Benjamin Clementine, an eccentric English artist, has made a striking feature on this track. His proclamations about the state of our society have combined a beautiful melody with a tragic message. This dreamy track will hopefully have the opposite effect for listeners: opening people’s eyes to the drastic reality of our current situation. Take a listen below.
