We Were Fooled, That Was NOT A Marshmello Track

Across social media, many others, including ourselves here at EDM Sauce, have been duped by what appeared to be Marshmello's new track, “Walking Out.”

When I first listened to the song I was surprised with how much it deviated from Marshmello's other tracks. Something about the laid-back and melodic qualities didn't quite click. I merely assumed Marshmello was taking a step back from his typical sound. But, just like countless listeners, I assumed wrong.

It seems that someone has been trying extremely hard to pass “Walking Out” as a Marshmello track. Appearing under the artist's name on both Spotify and iTunes, the song's mysterious appearance baffled us all- even the original artist, Evix.

untitled-copyuntitled-copy Evix, who released the song, entitled “Wayt”, on Soundcloud, thought that Marshmello was to blame. However, this is clearly not the case. Apparently, uploading fake songs and crediting artist isn't all that difficult. Which leaves us to wonder who took the time and energy to do so. If it wasn't Evix or Marshmello, than who was it? And why?

Regardless, listen to the actual track below and check out Evix's Soundcloud for more of this trap/future bass sound:
