Sources from Bloomberg say that the German streaming music platform SoundCloud is considering a sale of the company with an expected valuation of $1 billion USD. The discussions are reportedly still young and might not lead anywhere, but the possibility that SoundCloud is on the table is notable.
In June, SoundCloud launched SoundCloud GO and received a $70 million investment from Twitter. Despite the mixed reviews from SoundCloud users, the founders and investors of SoundCloud are considering the sale if the buyer meets the $1 billion price tag.
According to company sources, SoundCloud was valued at $700 million following the Twitter investment.
