Dolly Parton's 70s classic, “Jolene,” has been the subject of plenty of remixes, ranging from a disco/deep house rendition by the UK's Todd Terje, to a tropical re-imagination by the likes of Kygo. Today, Amsterdam's Ferreck Dawn has revealed himself as the latest producer to take on “Jolene,” and his modern-day makeover of the classic has brought it to the dance floor. Dawn's remix of “Jolene” has been floating around the Internet for a while, but today, SOURCE has unveiled Dawn as the man behind the remix through an unconventional method – Shazam.
On the remix, the instantly familiar vocals of the original sit on top of a bed of folky guitar riffs and a groovy bassline that will have you running to the dance floor. “Jolene” is due out on August 28th via SOURCE.
