Glitch in the System & Our Top Tracks of the Week (Episode 32)

Welcome back to the world's most well-known glitch hop experiment called “Glitch in the system” – firing in full force from down under. We'll count down our favorite glitch hop tunes tonight on air from New Zealand with TwEQ and DrDee on New Zealand's RDU 98.5 with “Glitch in the System.” This week we honor Jon Horvath of the Fort Knox Five and share some special new tracks. We also highly recommend peaking a new release called Fairchildren, an 8-track release from Ott and a new EP from Hooves on Addictech.

Their show is one of the best places to catch unreleased music from the best bass music artists with interviews, fresh tunes, and quality entertainment. We're always thrilled to be along for the ride with them and take some time out of the week to hear what's cracking on the other side of the world. Thank you for listening and supporting! Check out the full list of our supporters and bio here on Glitch in the Sytem RDU.

We also have a new top 5 playlist as well that features our top selections of 2015. We'll keep updating this playlist as the year goes on.

NOTES: Live on air from 7:30-9:30 P.M. on Wednesday in New Zealand which is now 12:30 AM – 2:30 A.M. PST Tuesday (tonight) here in the US (2-4 AM on East Coast).

Check out some of our podcasts on Mixcloud to hear some full shows over the past few weeks. Daylight savings time will help us out in the future, bringing their show time closer to ours in the U.S.

1. Fort Knox Five – The Brazilian Hipster

I did not have the pleasure of knowing Jon Horvath but I've spent time over the past week re-listening to more of the Five and paying tribute to his life. Sending your spirit good vibrations, Jon. Rest in peace.

2. Westwood Recordings Remix Champ: Opiuo – Life ft. Gift of Gab & Syreneiscreamy (SugarBeats Remix)

It's been a great year so far for Sugarbeats and we're very proud of them for winning the latest remix comp with Westwood/Opiuo/Shambhala. Grab their winning track as a free download here.

3. Grid Division – Slug Life

New release out this week on Adapted Records from the “Slug on the Town” EP! Lots of funky stuff here – and love the artwork! Grab the release here and check out his greasy, midtempo funk jam.

4. Alon Mor – Grypt

Insane new tune that comes to us from the Glitch Shop‘s latest release. This is one of our featured releases this week off Mor's “Natural Beheres” EP. Grab this one here.

5. Gater – Everything We Do

The newest addition to Gravitas Music, the livetronica band trio from Portland delivers a juicy new track on Gravitas Music. Grab it here. If you ain't first, your last. This track shouldn't be listed in a numerical order – it's such a great use of jazz and electronic writing.
