Paul Oakenfold Opens Enrollment for Impressive DJ Camp

At just past fifty years of age, Paul Oakenfold is one of the foremost senior experts on the electronic music scene and how to conquer it. He was there when EDM was called “electronica” and he's been through it all as an award-winning producer and wonderful DJ. Now, he's taking that experience to start his own breeding ground for the next Paul Oakenfold.

He's designed an “Electronic Dance Music Academy” that is set to take place from September 24-28 at the Los Angeles Recording School (a division of the L.A. film school). The school will focus on the art of Mixing (DJ'ing 101), In-studio production (“breaking it down”), publishing, licensing, marketing, social media, and radio – plus a breakdown of the agent and marketing game.

Students will be eligible to win spots in festival lineups and more – they just have to be over 18 years old to attend the camp. The studio is world-renowned, holding 20 studios and labs.

“This is a great opportunity for me to give back to the electronic music community and to take the time to teach and mentor students who have an interest in an industry that I’ve so proudly been a part of all these years,” Oakenfold said. “For me, the chance to make a difference in the careers of budding new artists is something I’ve always wanted to do, and providing this education is truly a dream for me.”

Check out the camp's website here for more information about enrollment. Entrants will receive mentorship from Oakenfold and these artists as well:
