As Summer rapidly approaches, show announcements abound all over the country. But few artists demand as much fandom and fervor as Derek Vincent Smith, AKA Pretty Lights. After last years 2-night Red Rocks run that incorporated the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, the man behind the music has upped the ante once again with the announcement of another 2-night experience. PL Telluride, as it is being referred to, is set to go down the last weekend of August, the 28th and 29th.
While there has been no information released in regards to the musical acts besides Derek himself, speculation abounds as to whether this event will include the PL Live Band or the Colorado Symphony Orchestra. However, considering the announcement of Pretty Light's return to Red Rocks (which has been announced as a solo DJ set run) for the first weekend of August, as is the tradition, it seems as though the Live Band might be making an appearance at Telluride sans Symphony. What we do know about this event is few and far between. So far there have been announcements of multiple camping zones and tickets.
The big man said himself of the event;
I've thought a lot about what a perfect place to throw a Pretty Lights concert might be, and what that actually means. I think that Telluride Town Park might be a place like that. The energy that resonates there is beyond the cusp of my own understanding but it is powerful and undeniable. I think that the seclusion of Telluride creates a real opening to focus on getting in touch.. with each other, ourselves, and the vibrations we experience as music, light, and life. PLUS the stars shine incredibly bright and the mountains are jaw dropping. These two nights in Telluride will be an awesome and historic opportunity to experience a live Pretty Lights show in what may be the perfect venue.

With under 100 days to go until the festival, it is high time that those who wish to attend get their gear in order and focus on finding a ticket, as they are sold out through the original site, except for expensive VIP tickets.
