Stream the Soundtrack to New British Sci-Film Film “Ex Machina”

Not receiving a ton of attention but mostly rave reviews, the new film Ex Machina opened in early April and has flown under the mainstream radar. However, the futuristic Sci-Fi thriller has plenty for fans of all ages to get excited about it. It's a futuristic ride that includes a very compelling film score with 20 tracks – one that involves two well-known artists who really know solid electronica – renowned producer/composer Ben Salisbury and Geoff Barrow of the famous band Portishead (bass guitar, drums, synths).

In touch with his band's psychedelic, experimental style, Barrow meshes with Salisbury for plenty of creepy sounds and goosebump-infused synth work on Ex Machina's score. Have a listen below and judge for yourself if you haven't already seen the film.

The soundtrack is now available for pre-order on Invada Records. You can grab a copy here (other copies like vinyl available online as well). In regards to the label releasing the soundtrack, this was the announcement:

“We're excited to announce the CD version of Geoff Barrow & Ben Salisbury's Ex Machina score is ready to pre-order. This CD version comes as a double jewel case package – with Disc 1 featuring the main score and Disc 2 featuring bonus material, not available on the digital version.

Geoff and Ben worked tirelessly on this project, not only for the movie itself but for people who wished to listen to the soundtrack as a stand alone experience. The Ex Machina score was mixed at Air Studios and mastered at Optimum with Geoff and Ben present at both sessions.”

Invada is responsible for a number of cutting-edge, progressive electronic scores in the film industry with artists like Cliff Martinez and College on their roster. Read more at the Invada Records website. Stream it here or check out the exclusive premiere on Consequence of Sound. Listen:
