Yeah we know the year might still be young, the Dutch imprint is really making waves with these tunes. Even though one of them is a 2014 release, it’s still in full effect on dance floors, while the other track is the debut single by perhaps Spinnin’s most promising artist of the year.
First up, the much awaited video for Michael Calfan’s Treasured Soul. The soul house track by the French producer caused quite a stir building up to its release on the Spinnin’ main imprint, early December 2014, as it got supported by a wide range of DJs like Avicii, The Magician, Martin Solveig, Oliver Heldens, John Dahlbäck, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano and Fedde le Grand as well as tastemakers like Hardwell, Martin Garrix, David Guetta, Nicky Romero, Pete Tong and Danny Howard.
Ok, so much for the name dropping. ‘Treasured Soul’ simply was a huge hit, reaching the #2 spot on Beatport’s Top 100 (#1 in the house chart) where it’s now reliving again in a solid Chocolate Puma remix. Meanwhile the original track is still widely popular in clubs, festivals as well as in the air waves. Therefore, the video that was just released got major attention, gaining almost half a million YouTube views in a couple of days.

Secondly, a new youngster has arrived. Following the trails of teenage DJ stars like Martin Garrix and Oliver Heldens, he is only 16-year old Curbi making his way to the Spinnin’ Records label. Yesterday, his much awaited debut single Discharge was finally released, including full video on YouTube.
The track already got widely supported by, well, just about everyone playing dance music. Heldens, Avicii, Vegas & Mike, Romero and Garrix were on it, BBC jocks Pete Tong and Danny Howard were going through the roof while DJs like Martin Solveig, Firebeatz, Knife Party and Showtek also showed their love. Quite the debut for a teenage home producer, for sure Curbi is going places.
