Gold by Chet Faker is not a new track, in fact, it was released in April via Future Classic on his “Built On Glass” album. However, it has been recently released as a single. It seems like Chet Faker wants to remind us how amazing this song really is. Lyrics telling us, “You gotta know, I'm feeling love.” Forcing us to take a deeper look at this song to hear things that we might have missed during its initial release. (Which is totally understandable, because that whole album was amazing.)
This Australian downtempo electronic producer really knows how to blend the perfect amounts of soul and electronica together for a surreal and sexy song. His crooner R&B voice is combined with his bluesy stereo beats and lyrics that just beg you to understand the love he is feeling. And he succeeds. This track flows deep within your soul, and you are able to comprehend that pain that an unappreciated love can create. The song brings you back into reality by momentarily breaking the beat with a capella refrains . But, then back you go into that daze that it initially offers. He properly titled this track, it truly is gold.
